Speaking at the University's graduation square during their 3rd graduation ceremony on Friday, governor Ongwae said that he expected the institution to have established a medical school at the hospital, since a memorandum of understanding was signed between the hospital and the institution.

"We collaborated with the University in the elevation of medical services in the county through signing an MoU between KTRH and Kisii University to operate a medical school at the facility," said Ongwae.

The governor revealed that an office had already been set up for the University next to the pathology lab at the hospital.

"We expect to see different specialists on the forefront in this county from Kisii University in the field of medicine," added Ongwae.

Ongwae wants the institution to begin discussions with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board to facilitate plans of setting up a complete school of medicine.
