Juja sub-county public health officer Flora Gakui has promised to ensure the already launched family planning strategy in the region is well implemented.

Speaking on Monday in Juja town during the launch of the Plan at Jomo Kenyatta primary school hall, Ms Gakui said the strategy which is the guide in implementation of health services in the county will produce desired results.

"This strategy will help our county in the delivery of quality health services to improve lives of the residents," she said.

The health officer said the county government will provide quality services to ensure the residents are free from preventable diseases and reduce maternal and new born mortality rate.

She said the plan is meant to increase demand for family planning services and sustainability beyond donor support.

"We aim at increasing retention rate through motivation to service providers and promoting research and development through advocacy," Ms Gakui said.

She urged other stakeholders to participate in the implementation of the strategy so as to ensure that only quality services are delivered to the members of public in the area.

The officer has revealed that there are plans to construct a level four hospital in the area on the four acre piece of land that has been previously used by JKUAT as a garbage management area as Juja has no major public health institution.
