Operations at Keroka town were on Wednesday paralyzed after heavy rains pounded the area the whole day and night hence causing major flooding in the town.
The floods left many business people counting losses after they were forced to vacate their business premises.
Lack of a drainage system further aggravated the situation forcing residents to wade through pools of stagnant water.
They called on the county government to move with speed and address the problem.
Erick Chweya who operates a barbershop in the middle of the town could not access his business.
“I did not work on Wednesday yet I have a family that depends on me. Despite promises by the county government to put in place a drainage system nothing has been done,” Erick said.
Jacinta Mokeira said: “The open air market is inaccessible and we haven’t had any customers.”
