Kivumbini Member of County Assembly (MCA) Vitalis Okello has challenged leaders in Nakuru to help the less fortunate in the society this festive season.

Speaking at the Kivumbini shopping centre earlier on Monday when he hosted Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, Okello said that there is a need for leaders to help those who have nothing to celebrate this Christmas.

“Our governor and speaker are a living testimony of what a good leader ought to do to impact positively on others in the society. If the rest of us could do the same, the less privileged will also have something to celebrate," he said.

Okello also called on youths to engage in productive activities rather than waste time in parties and drug abuse saying that his office was ready to liaise with area computer schools to ensure young people get computer programmes.

He also told off leaders engaging in divisive politics.

“We at Jubilee who are the ruling party in Nakuru are willing to work with all elected leaders in the county irrespective of party affiliation, after all, togetherness will always yield positive results,” Okello said.
