Gone are the days when matatus were just metal on wheels.

The matatu hype, much like that in Kenya's capital Nairobi, has landed in NaxVegas.

Matatu owners are trying to outdo each other and command a larger market.

From the interior to the exterior Vegans are witnessing a revolution in their transport sector.

The old worn out seats are being replaced with newer and classier ones.

The tired stereos are giving way to better and louder ones, and the faded body job being replaced by amazing graffiti.

Nakuru has many carriers operating around the town.

They include; Bahama, Coolio, F.A.T, Sita Line and many more. However, among all of them, one stands out as having the most pimped of matatus. Coolio.

Plying the Town-Sita route, Coolio matatus are doing Vegas proud.

The owner(s) know that they have outdone their rivals and now the competition is in-house.

A new coolio matatu can be seen on the road almost every month. Just when you think they can’t do better, they do so, again and again.

It started with Givenchy which basked in the limelight for almost two months.

Today, less than three months since its launch, it has become yesterday’s news. Why? Because and Crossover are the new kids on the block.

The youths already have favourites and it is not unusual to find them queuing at the terminus waiting for them.

They know how to keep their clients coming back.

The music is appealing to the demographic as is the physical outlook.

Perhaps what they lack is Wi-Fi to keep the twitter finger youths occupied as they commute.

To the matatus in the limelight, enjoy it while it lasts. Nothing is forever!
