It was a dramatic, tense moment on Tuesday when the stage was set for Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to meet his fierce political critic Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.
The moment played out at the burial of Mugithi King Salim Junior at Subukia, Nakuru County.
The burial was attended by the county’s political figures as well as leaders from other areas within the Mt Kenya cocoon.
Ngunjiri, being the astute politician he is, had waited for other leaders to arrive and sit down, he then made a dramatic entry stealing the show as his supporters cheered him.
He proceeded to the dais where several political leaders were sitting and warmly stretched his hand to greet his political enemy, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
The two have been involved in a war of words; with Ngunjiri accusing Kinuthia of a scanty development record, and the governor and his allies hitting back.
The situation, however, played cool. Ngunjiri could be seen wearing a smile as he gave a firm handshake.
