Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa on Wednesday officiated the opening of Kandutura Primary School’s administration block funded by Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking to the media after the launch, Ichung’wa said CDF has constructed numerous school administration blocks especially for primary schools.

He said that this was the 8th block funded through the kitty.

Ichung’wa revealed that most of the administration offices were iron sheet offices, and they were not a very good image for the government.

He said CDF will continue helping schools in different ways.

He revealed that over the past 3 years, four libraries for secondary schools have also been erected.

"We are not going to stop at this, we are going to continue constructing more in other schools. These schools face a lot of challenges and when we reduce such, we also reduce some burden," said Ichung’wa.

He revealed that the school had undergone numerous theft cases in the previous administration offices as thieves would break into the offices and escape with computer machines.

He said with the new block, such cases would be a thing of the past as security was guaranteed.

"However, I also want to challenge schools to hire security guards to guard the school during the night to reduce robbery," he said.

He also warned second hand books dealers in Kikuyu Town who encourage theft of text books in schools.

Ichung'wa said the matter has affected many schools and that the law shall take its course.
