All water kiosks found operating illegally in Nakuru will be shut down in a bid to improve service delivery.
Nakuru Water and Sewerage Company (NAWASCO) commercial manager James Gathairu on Wednesday issued the stern warning.
He said the company has received numerous complaints of unscrupulous water vendors who never run short of water despite the acute shortage witnessed especially in parts of Shabab, Rhonda and Kaptembwa.
Gathairu said such cases raises questions over the legality of such traders and promised that the company will follow up.
He, however, dismissed allegations that the company is working in cahoots with such traders to frustrate residents.
Residents of several estates in the town claimed that they were hardly getting water in their taps yet surrounding water kiosks had water running.
