Nakuru County is saturated with many investment opportunities that if well tapped and utilised, can make it one of the largest business destinations in the region.
This is according to an international investor from America who is on a fact-finding mission in the county with an aim of establishing a renewable energy plant aimed at transforming the livelihoods of the common Mwananchi.
Speaking at the county headquarters on Wednesday where he was hosted by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, John Colbert, CEO cum founder of AEG International noted that he was pleased with what he had seen in Nakuru further expressing confidence in having a good working relationship with the County government.
Nakuru is indeed a very rich area in terms of raw products for innovations and that will be an advantage for me because I intent to offer alternative solar power to the many people who find electricity expensive,” he said.
Colbert wants to invest in renewable energy through solar panels that are cost effective and environmentally friendly.
“Time has come for our young people to use their innovative prowess in making an impact in the society because white collar jobs have become very elusive in our modern world,” he advised.
“Mine is to work with like-minded individuals, corporates and institutions and following the testimonies I have heard about Nakuru, I think I am at the right place,” he added.
Through his organisation AEG International, Colbert specialises in renewable energy, water purification and industrial technologies and has a recognisable reputation across the world.
If the project is launched in Nakuru, it becomes the second county in the county to adopt the innovation after Kiambu and the American believes the former has the capacity to outwit the latter only if authorities cooperate and accord him a good working environment.
