For newbies in town, the common distinct gardens in Nakuru County are the Nyayo and Lion Gardens.
Lions Gardens for the better part of last year and this year has been closed since it has been undergoing some renovations.
Here, the residents are eagerly waiting for the new look. With that in progress, the only place left for people to rest and 'reflect' on their lives is the Nyayo Gardens, this garden is located along Kenyatta Avenue opposite the famous Merica Hotel.
Youths, who happens to be the highest percentage of unemployed lot in town usually consider the garden as the "base" "frustration corner" where they rest and spend the better part of their day to find solace there.
However, there is a new group of people who have now transformed the garden to be a love affair ground. You see, when you enter the place, the first thing that catches your attention is the bunch of couples at every corner of the garden.
This writer chose to visit the place and have an experience of how it barely feels to watch people get intimate with the best knowledge that this is a public place. It is unfortunate that the residents are now forced to watch the garden turn into what Masinde Muliro became of.
Evidently, the couples kiss and caress without caring who is there or not. Most people this writer spoke to expressed disappointments to the new state of affairs.
"I don't understand what is wrong with these people, I wonder what happens to self-disciple and respect," said Lilian Omondi, a resident in the county.
When I spoke to a couple in the garden, the man who sought anonymity said that they were there for a good cause.
"We are here to spend our time together with no physical intimacy at all. For those expressing the same maybe they are not aware of the role of this garden," he said.
