Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Wednesday promised to unveil another road in honour of Mekatilili Wa Menza who spearheaded the Mijikenda rebellion against the British colonial administration.
Speaking during the launch of the Fidel Odinga road in Mombasa, in honour of Cord leader Raila Odinga's late son, Joho said the road will be launched in recognition of the freedom fighter who fought without fear of losing her life.
The governor was accompanied of Cord leader Raila Odinga and other leaders from the opposition.
The move to rename the road which was formerly known as Nyali Road in honour of Fidel Odinga, was criticised by a section of Jubilee leaders and Mombasa residents.
