Residents of Juja have a reason to smile after the National government, through the office of the President, approved Juja as a district on its own, after years of operating under Thika West district.

Speaking to journalists at Juja town, Juja MP Francis Munyua said the residents who have been seeking services from Ruiru and Thika Sub-Counties, will now be able to receive government services at their door step.

Munyua said that the residents of Juja have been experiencing hardships when seeking services, due to the lack of government offices in the area.

He said that they are waiting for the government to allocate them a sub-county administrator, who is expected to move with all the government agencies and departments..

“It has been a long time since I requested for a district approval, but it has been finally awarded to us. We are glad that we will now be able to access government services here in Juja Sub-County, although we still have to wait as we have not constructed the offices yet,” he said.

The MP said he would hold talks with ward representatives and area residents, to deliberate on where the sub-county headquarters and offices will be constructed and situated.

The MP further said that security will be beefed up in the area, as they are set to receive a new OCPD.
