Hassan Cheruiyot was elated on Thursday after registering a mean grade of A plain of 83 points in the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination.
Cheruiyot, from Moi High School Kabarak while speaking to the media at their home shortly after receiving the results thanked his parents, teachers and school staff for their contribution towards his success.
"It is a good results for me and my classmates but these would not have come without the assistance of our teachers, parents and the entire staff at Kabarak. I am very greatful for what they have done for us," said a smiling Cheruiyot.
He also cited hardwork and commitment from his colleagues during the preparation for the exams as another reason for the impressive performance.
"We did a lot of work in preparation for the exams, and finally we have achieved what we wanted. It is a pleasure to have these results with us," Cheruiyot added.
Cheruoiyot now has his dreams set for petroleum engineering.
‘For me I want to pursue petroleum engineering in one of the public universities in Kenya, probably Kenyatta University or the University of Nairobi.' Cheruiyot said.
According to the KCSE results released on Thursday, Kabarak High School had 202 students register A mean grade, 78 students with A-(minus), while 8 students scored B-.
