Students from several schools in Kabatini ward will this week benefit from bursary allocations courtesy of the Nakuru County Government.

In a press release to residents, area MCA Peter Mwangi announced that the giving of the bursaries will start on Monday through to Wednesday.

“We ask the parents to avail themselves to the events as were also come up with modalities for the second phase of the allocation,” said the legislator.

Among the schools that will benefit on Monday include St. Joseph Kirima, St. Francis and King David Secondary.

On Tuesday, the bursaries will only be issued at one school, Rones Secondary. On Wednesday, the issuance will be at St John and Murungaru secondary schools.

The monies are part of the 55 million that were given by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua as the first tranche of bursaries where every ward will receive Sh1 million to be shared among the needy students in the ward.

There was promise of another Sh1 million later in the year and the modalities for sharing this amount are what the MCA wants to discuss with the residents.
