Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has exuded confidence of retaining the gubernatorial seat in the 2017 general elections.

Addressing residents at Gachororo trading centre in Juja after issuing bursary funds to needy students on Wednesday, Kabogo said he is not afraid of the competition from politicians who have shown interest in the seat.

Kabogo stated that if he was able to serve as Juja MP for two terms, then he will also serve as Kiambu governor for two terms.

The governor said that Kiambu people have confidence in him adding that he is confident that they will re-elect him for a second and even third term.

“I am very confident that Kiambu people will support my bid as their governor for a second term in 2017,” he said.

Kabogo at the same time asked those eyeing the seat to desist from divisive politics.

He said that some politicians had embarked on divisive politics, adding that Kiambu residents are peace lovers and will not accept to be divided by petty politicians.

Kabogo said that divisive and partisan politics has no place in Kiambu, and urged those searching for votes to use the right and acceptable means.

“We are aware that some politics have started their campaigns and are employing tactics that will cause division among the people,” he said.

Kabogo said that residents will elect the leaders they want adding that politicians should stop antagonising the people.

Kabogo stated that his government is keen to fulfill all development projects before the next general elections.

He appealed to all leaders to stop early campaigns and complete the development pledges they made to residents.
