Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has assured residents of Lari, Kijabe and Limuru of the county government's commitment to repairing and renovating roads.

Speaking in Kijabe Town in Lari constituency after issuing bursary funds to needy students on Thursday, Kabogo said that the county will renovate all roads before the end of the year.

The governor said that adequate funds have been allocated towards roads and infrastructure repair, adding that works have commenced on various roads.

“We have heard your cries over poor road networks and I want to assure you that all roads will be renovated and tarmacked before the end of the year,” said Kabogo.

The Kiambu governor said repair works have already began on the Kijabe-Gichiengo road in Lari.

He said that the contractor working on the road has been asked to expedite the process and have the work completed before June.

Kabogo said that the county government is banking on proper roads infrastructure to scale up development.

The Kiambu County boss revealed that the county had bought two graders to help in road maintenance. He asked road contractors to ensure that they complete their projects on time to avoid inconveniencing residents.

A section of residents in Kijabe had been lamenting over poor roads in the area.

Last month, the residents held protests over poor road infrastructures in the area.

Bodaboda and taxi operators also raised concerns over the issue saying that pregnant women were giving birth in their vehicles due to bad roads.
