Governor William Kabogo has told County Commissioner Mr Alex Nkoyo to beef up security in the county.

Mr Kabogo while addressing Kiambu residents during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Ndumberi grounds said there was still rampant insecurity in the county.

The governor said that runaway crime is still rampant in some parts of the county.

Kabogo further said the county was experiencing unexplained criminality.

“The County commissioner and his security team have to work and put in place appropriate mechanisms to address insecurity in Kiambu,” he said.

Kabogo asked the county commissioner to stop the talk and act on criminals.

“Kiambu people need security to be intensified,” said Kabogo.

The governor said his administration has provided the required support to the security officials.

He said police have adequate vehicles which he said should be used to conduct patrols across the county.

Kabogo said the government will work with national government on security.

He also stated that his government will cooperate with other international agencies on matters security.

Speaking at the function, Mr Nkoyo said that security will be streamlined.

Mr Nkoyo indicated that police have mapped areas and dens of criminals adding that that appropriate security measures are being taken to flush out the criminals.

Nkoyo said criminals will not be given room to cause havoc and asked leaders to support security measures.

There have been a series of criminal acts in several parts of Kiambu recently with leaders including Senator Kimani Wamatangi calling for intensified security.
