Kiambu governor William Kabogo has urged youth in the county to be responsible and work with his government towards development.

Kabogo told the youth to stop associating with leaders he said want to use them wrongly through violence.

Speaking at Kimende Town after officially launching milk coolers at Gatimaiyu Dairy Plant in Lari on Monday, Kabogo told youths to partner with him in quest for development instead of being blinded by selfish individuals and politicians.

The Kiambu governor noted that some youths were being misused by some people for selfish gains.

He said that time when young people were used as agents of violence and crime are over.

“Young people should stop associating with people who want to use them for their personal gain,” he said.

"It is time young people realised that some people with ill intentions want to misuse them and they (youths) should shun them completely," said Kabogo.

The governor instead urged the youth to be on the front line in championing for development.

He said that the county government has taken bold steps in initiating projects aimed at empowering young people.

He at the same time maintained that his government will not be distracted by people he said want to sabotage development.

Kabogo said that his quest for development will not be dampened by selfish politicians.

“As Kiambu governor I will continue to make sure that people have services,” he pledged.

He promised residents that his government will implement all development projects before 2017 general election.
