Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi has been asked to speed up the audit into the national exam leakage saga.

Kisumu based activist Jacob Otieno said Monday that the level of leakage witnessed this year is shocking and Kenyans need answers.

"Since the national exams began in this country such a thing has never happened before therefore we are curious to know what happened because credibility of the exams is at stake," said Otieno.

Speaking on the phone, he said after the audit, all those responsible should be prosecuted.

"Kaimenyi should put pressure on the Kenya National Examinations Council to reveal what exactly happened. The leakages did not provide a fair playing ground for all the students considering that exams in Kenya determine one's success," he added.

The activist said it will be wrong to cheat and then flop at the next education level.

Last month, while appearing before a parliamentary committee on education, Kaimenyi said the ministry will wait for the exams to be completed before conducting an audit into the massive leakages witnessed.
