Lands CS, Jacob Kaimenyi has vowed to fight corruption starting with his office.
Kaimenyi promised to suck employees and staff in the land ministry who are corrupt or participate in corrupt deeds. He has however, expressed how he thinks the civil servants’ lifestyle audit recommended by Edward Ouko, who is the auditor general, is important.
Kaimenyi says all civil servants should be audited to end corruption since most of them earn their wealth through illegal means.
A Kibera resident, Yvette Belinda says corruption has led to many people living in poverty in Kenya.
‘‘It is so bad that the so called leaders and civil servants use other peoples money yet they have a good salary,’’ she said.
Another resident, Waweru Mburu said the corrupt people should be fished out of their offices because they are enemies of progress.
‘‘The nation cannot be struggling economically yet other people are misusing the public finances. To overcome this, the government and citizens should expose the culprits,’’ said Mburu.
