Reluctance by residents of Gatundu North to volunteer information to security agencies with regards to criminal activities is hindering efforts to curb increasing cases of insecurity in Kamwangi and its environs.
Gatundu North commissioner Daniel Nyamiti has blamed the prevailing insecurity in the town on laxity and lack of cooperation among the local residents.
Speaking from his office in Kamwangi on 30th October 2015, the commissioner urged the local residents to work together with the local chiefs in the crackdown against a gang which has been terrorising members of the public
He also appealed to the county government to demolish all the unfinished buildings adding that they were being used as hideouts by criminal suspects.
