Traders and residents of Kangundo Town have urged the sub-county administrator to ensure that the overflowing dustbins in the market are emptied in a bid to prevent an outbreak of diseases.

The traders said the garbage from the overflowing bins mixes with rain water thus emitting a foul smell.

Speaking on Wednesday, led by the Kangundo town chairman Chris Kyalo, the traders said they are afraid that there could be an outbreak of diseases if immediate action is not taken.

Kyalo also said that they have requested the sub-county administrator to address the issue but she has not taken any step up to now.

"We have been complaining about the state of the town due to the overflowing bins in the market but the sub-county administrator is yet to address to the issue,” said Kyalo.

Efforts to get a comment from the sub-county administrator were futile as she refused to address journalists.
