Parents from Kaptembwa and Rhonda in Nakuru West sub county have been urged to collect birth certificates for their children which are currently lying at the chief's office in Kaptembwa.
Area chief Stephen Koech on Tuesday said that the certificates, which numbered more than thirty, had been lying at the offices since September this year and wondered why their owners had not collected them.
Koech said that it was unwise for the same parents who blame his office for delaying to issue the certificates to fail to pick their children's crucial documents.
"It is quite odd that a vital document such as a birth certificate would be left to idle here for such a long time. Let the parents who applied for them to come forth and claim them before they blame my office for complacency in issuing them," he said.
He added that his office would continue to liaise with the relevant government agencies to fast track the processing of the said documents so that parents and even their children could have an easier time in engaging in both national undertakings such as national examinations or applying for jobs, among other several things.
