Girls at Olympic Primary School produced an impressive performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams results that were released on Wednesday.

Apart from dominating the top positions, a girl also emerged as the top student in a class of 421 candidates.

Odero Ernie Atieno, emerged the best student in Nairobi County's most populous school after scoring 415 marks out of the possible 500.

She was closely followed by Odhiambo Titus Okello who garnered 410 marks.

However, the performance was generally dominated by female candidates in the top 100 positions.

The Kibera slum-based school at Lang'ata sub-county produced an eye-catching performance with majority of the candidates who sat the exam expected to join prestigious schools nationally. Majority of them scored between 300 and 399 marks.

However, a few students will miss chances in secondary due to low marks.

The lowest mark of 119 will however not create any complain from the jovial parents and candidates who are generally satisfied with the level of performance at the institution.

The school's head teacher Caleb Ochieng received praise from all quarters as everyone approves his able-leadership that has seen the performance of the school improve since he joined the school in 2014.

However, attempts by this writer to reach him were futile as  he was told he had travelled upcountry by one of the school workers.

Meanwhile, the celebrations continue.
