Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has urged Kenyans to support the Punguza Mzigo referendum call that is meant to relieve Kenyans of over taxation.

Speaking after attending church service at Eldoret AIC on Sunday Kuria said that the referendum will ensure that all irrelevant offices are scraped since they are irrelevant.

"I decided to come up with the referendum since i saw the burden that Kenyans were carrying after the implementation of the new constitution," he said

He said for the referendum to be successful, they have started collecting signatures all over the country.

"The process of signature collection is underway in all parts of the country. We are targeting three million signatures for the move to be successful. So far we have over a half a million signatures. All Kenyans must support the move since it will bring more good than harm," he said.

The Punguza Mzigo referendum call sponsored by Gatundu South Member of Parliament is meant to scrap the senate, nominated MCAs, reduce the number of Members of Parliament seats.
