Kiambu county governor William Kabogo has called on residents to maintain peace and brotherhood in line with the ‘Nyumba Kumi’ initiative.

Kabogo said that Kiambu needs security and peace to attract more investors as a way of growing the county’s economy.

He lauded the Kiambu county Police commander James Mugera for the good work he has done so far in ensuring that the initiative works.

“All of us should know that it is our responsibility to take care of our security and that is why we are being sensitised on the ways of safeguarding ourselves day by day. Good job by the police commander for the efforts,” said Kabogo.

Kabogo urged Kiambu residents to get in touch with the community policing officers who will help them to know how it works and thus enhance the same in their areas of residence.

The governor has appealed to the police to treat the public with respect which he says will ensure the public collaborates with the police willingly.

He added that the Thika-Makongeni Community policing should be supported as it has shown good leadership as they have made sure that all the residents were registered as a step to ensuring proper securing of the area.

Kabogo has promised to boost them in all their peace and security initiatives within the county and urged them to involve everyone in the sensitisation campaigns.
