Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has called for tolerance among politicians across the country.
Speaking to journalists at Kiambu town on Sunday, senator Wamatangi said that politicians need to tone down and focus on uniting Kenyans.
The senator observed that political temperatures were rising yet the next general election was still far away.
“Politicians across the political divide should tone down and accommodate each other’s opinions instead of engaging in abusive politics,” he said.
The senator indicated that democracy is all about respecting each other views and being tolerant to each other.
Wamatangi said that the country needs to move forward adding that politicians must be on the frontline in bringing the country together.
On the same note, the Kiambu senator wants the opposition to stop making statements that could easily cause disunity among Kenyans.
Wamatangi said that some of the statements being made by some opposition leaders trigger conflict.
The Kiambu senate lawmaker cited opposition claims that the Jubilee government plans to rig the 2017 general election saying that the allegations are malicious.
The senator asked the opposition to be objective and work with the government on development agenda.
