Kibera bodaboda operators have decried the shortage in customers as their business operations face difficulties.
According to the operators, in the past 2 months, there has been a decrease in the number of customers using motorbikes as a means of transport.
Laini Saba bodaboda stage operator, Albert Kirui spoke on this matter on Wednesday afternoon.
“It has been a tough month and it seems residents used all the money from the previous month and now they cannot even afford to board a motorbike,’’ said Kirui.
He said that now the fare from Laini Saba to Yaya is sh50 unlike before when it used to be sh70 and this has made getting customers a real challenge.
“I am losing hope in this business since am forced to be in the scorching sun waiting for customers for long hours only to find that in a day I carry one or two customers unlike before when I used to carry up to 20 customers a day,” said Joel Omondi, another bodaboda rider.
Omondi said that most of the passengers have opted to use matatus to work since the fare charges are lower than those of the bikes.
