The Kibera MP, Ken Okoth has called on all leaders in society to give higher positions to women so that they do not feel left out.

Speaking on Monday morning, the MP said, ‘‘I am a very keen person when it comes to the 2/3rd gender rule. I usually make sure even women are in higher positions in any development program,’’ said Okoth.

He advised women in parliament to work harder to be role models to other women outside.

‘‘In parliament, we have 47 women who represent their various counties. They should learn since in the coming years, they will have to fight on their own,’’ added the MP.

He echoed the U.S president’s speech that stated that we have a 52% population of women in Kenya yet they are not given enough space in government and other institution, we’ll be killing the society since women make up a developed society.
