A section of Kibera residents have complained of the notice given to them demanding them to vacate from their houses to pave the way for the road construction.
According to Ruth Omollo, the residents are not against the construction of roads in the area but they feel they have no other houses to rent since the place is congested.
‘’Telling me to move is not a problem. My worry is where I get another room to live. Also, how sure am I that the room I will get will not be among the structures to be demolished? And where will my kids go to school? I feel it is not fair but since the government rules, I will obey,’’ said Rita Awour, a resident of the area.
On the other hand, the area MP Ken Okoth, urged the residents to embrace development and not politicise the issue.
