Residents of Sarangombe and of Kianda wards are a happy lot after they got help from a nongovernmental organisation to get more water.

The nongovernmental organisation identified as MAJEI is expected to drill borehole water in the area and supply it to houses in the two wards.

Led by Austine Onyango, the community leader, said the residents were issued with a borehole drilling truck, an exercise to be carried in Kamkunji Ground to help the community.

“We have been facing water shortage for a while and we thank the organisation for helping us,” he said.

The borehole is set to benefit over 9, 000 residents of the Sarangombe ward and a part of Kianda area.

According to the head of the organisation, Sarah White, they have been looking for a way to help the residents for a while now.

“We are calling for cooperation during the period of implementing the project so that we can complete it on time,” she said.
