Laini Saba market traders in Kibera have urged the Nairobi County government to consider them when employment opportunities come.
According to them, they have not been given opportunities for employment.
Speaking earlier this morning at the market, led by Boniface Oyaro, who is the traders secretary in the market committee, the traders said the market has many people who have not been given equal opportunities like other sectors when employment comes by the county. Oyaro said that the county government has ignored them as compared to other sectors such as bodaboda.
''We urge our county government to consider other sectors so that we can benefit from some posts in the county leadership. We know that not all of us can get opportunities but, the little opportunities should be equally given to all the people without favour, we will appreciate,'' said Oyaro.
He further argued that the county government should put good strategies and mechanisms in place that will help them as traders whenever there is a problem in the market.
