Kisii county government has been challenged to conduct counselling and guidance sessions for street boys as part of the efforts to prepare them for rehabilitation into useful citizens.
The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Kisii county chairman Benjamin Onkoba has underscored the importance of the Kisii county administration taking the street boys through counselling sessions instead of using scary tactics to remove them from the streets.
Speaking to this Hivisasa writer in Kisii town on Tuesday afternoon, Onkoba regretted that the street boys were endowed with various life skills but they are going to waste due to lack of positive rehabilitation strategies.
"These street boys are part of the society and there is need for the Kisii county government and other stakeholders to find solutions to their problems by engaging services of professional counselors to handle them," said Onkoba.
