Kisii governor James Ongwae has asked Kisii County Public Service Board chairman David Kombo to ensure they hire qualified and competent employees to promote development.

Ongwae said it is quite embarrassing to retain incompetent employees in Kisii county government because the county can’t grow economically.

Speaking on Thursday at the county government offices during the signing of performance contracts of all his CeCs, Ongwae challenged the board to have competent employees that can help in developing the county.

“If Kisii County wants more development, all the employees must be competent and qualified. We can’t tolerate incompetent people at all because next time I am the one who will be put on question to say why my government failed to deliver by fulfilling the promises,” said Ongwae.

Governor Ongwae lauded Kisii MCAs for the work they are doing to see the county have good legislative acts that can promote the county in development.

Ongwae said officers in charge of revenue collection should be trained on how they can collect the revenue digitally so that the money cannot be stolen and used in development

“The national government and county government need to gain much revenue collection and to attain that the tax should be collected digitally and we need to train our officers on to handle the computers when colleting revenue,” added Ongwae
