Members of the Kisii County assembly, led by majority chief whip and MCA for Basi Central ward Henry Moracha, pointed an accusing finger to the MPs who claim they are sidelined by the county government on developmental projects yet they failed to attend and participate in functions organised by the county.

They were speaking on Thursday in Kisii during the signing of performance contract among executive committee member an event that was presided over by Governor James Ongwae.

In particular, Mr Moracha faulted South Mugirango legislator Manson Nyamweya, who he said had been undermining Governor Ongwae for personal vendetta that compromised development.

“Nyamweya is found of criticising Governor Ongwae yet he does not even want to attend and share  a platform like this one so that we can move the county to the next level. He should stop this. Ongwae is the governor and therefore anybody salivating the seat should hold their horses till the right time comes," said the MCA.

He added: "They are shouting outside there that MCAs are stealing money yet we don't handle cash. Ours is to oversea work done."

His sentiments were hailed by minority chief whip and MCA for Ichuni ward Francis Aburi who required that the MPs hold hands with the county leadership in order to realise development.

"Our stands have compromised development and therefore I ask my good friends, MPs to join hands with us at grassroot level so that we can propel our county."

Minority leader Daniel Apepo said he and other opposition leaders will support the government but challenged Ongwae to cooperate and involve them in any decisions made by the government.
