Residents of Kisii town have raised concern over the increase in the number of bats in Kisii town at the Kisii County headquarters, noting that they have become a very big problem to pedestrians that pass by.
The residents say the bats have made the town dirty and now want that they be removed from the place, adding that the county head offices should be clean and not how they are.
The residents say that the bats we not there six months ago after the trees were cut but they are back and their waste has made the town dirty.
“The bats are so many and they excrete from the top of the trees and you cannot even pass under the trees there. Six months ago the same concern was raised and something was done and they disappeared but we do not understand what happened and they are now back again,” said one of the residents.
They said they had found someone willing to help them get rid of the birds but the county government chose to ignore them.
The Kisii County Environment CeC Samson Bokea however called on the residents to be patient as the county finds a way to tame the animals noting that the bats won't harm them.
