Kisii University Chancellor Prof Godfrey Muriuki has called on the government to increase funding of stalled projects in the institution.

Prof Muriuki spoke on Friday during the University's third graduation ceremony.

He said that the institution needed good infrastructure to disseminate quality education. 

"The quality of education does not come cheaply. I call upon both the national and county government to increase funding of our unfinished projects so that we can attain the best quality of education we need," he said. 

Some of the unfinished projects include an ICT Centre, medical school and staff offices. 

Other projects which were completed include new lecture rooms at the Main Campus. 

The don however thanked the government for their continued support, especially on matters security. 

"I thank the government for providing security in our campus. I'm also grateful to Kisii County government for enabling us embark on a medical degree programme," he added. 

Prof Muriuki congratulated the 2015 graduands and urged them to be proud of the institution and be useful citizens in the society. 

Over 3,000 students graduated from the university with various degrees and diplomas.
