Youths in Njoro have been urged to come out and formulate business plans that will enable them to become independent rather than sitting back doing nothing.
Speaking in Njoro on Monday after meeting several youth groups to discuss a youth soccer tournament scheduled for December in his constituency, the area MP Joseph Kiuna called on the youths to put their innovative prowess into good use by engaging in activities that will benefit the society.
“All of us have that uniqueness that if we recognise and put it into proper use, we will never look back because it will be a stepping stone to greatness,” he advised.
According to Kiuna, the society was saturated with numerous opportunities that called for tact. He further accused young people of seating on their academic credentials awaiting formal employment that has proved elusive over the years.
“Going to school is one thing but getting your dream job is another. Success doesn’t come easily, you have to work for it,” he said.
Kiuna asked the youth to draft business proposals and take them to his constituency office for scrutiny before he advised them on how to apply for government funding to help them realise their plans.
He expressed his commitment in working with the youths for a prosperous Njoro saying that his engagement with some youth groups in different wards has already brought about positive results.
The ‘Tamba Na Kiuna Soccer Tournament’ is scheduled to kick off in December at a date and venue that will be communicated after everything is put in place.
