Dr Joseph Kivilu has denied claims Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) is investigating schools over 2015 KCSE examinations.
In a statement sent to the press, the council's chief executive officer the said examinations results have not been released and their processing is still in progress.
“Knec wishes to disassociate itself from the information circulating from the information circulating in sections of social media purported to be a list of schools being investigated for 2015 KCSE exam irregularities,” read part of the statement signed by Dr Kivilu.
“The list is not from the council since the said examinations have not been released and the processing of the examination results is still in progress,” it added.
Dr Kivilu urged parents and teachers of the schools in the purported list to ignore the rumours and wait for official communication from the exam body.
“We therefore wish to call upon the candidates, parents as well as head teachers of the schools in the list circulating in social media to ignore the reports,” he said.
