The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers head office has been warned not to enter into any further deals concerning the new health insurance bill proposed by the Teachers Service Commission.
Kuppet's Nakuru office warned its national office over signing the deal saying it is contrary to an earlier agreement by members that they would stick with the National Hospital Insurance Fund and not what their employer was proposing to them.
Led by branch chairman Sammy Kambo, secretary general Mbugua Gakau and treasurer Rukwaro Theuri, the leaders on Monday blasted their head office of overlooking the union's resolution in Bungoma that its members 'remain in NHIF during its last annual general meeting.
They also distanced their branch from a deal signed by Kuppet national leaders and TSC over the controversial bill on December 15, last year, saying they were not convinced by its provisions.
"What the TSC is proposing to us is way too expensive and we don't want to be forced to embrace it," Mbugua noted.
The three leaders also called for a refund of ,all deductions in their December pay slips and which were chanelled to the new bill and warned their employer against advocating dictatorial tendencies over the bill.
