Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has delivered his promise of increasing monies allocated to bursaries from the Constituency Development Fund kitty.
Cheruiyot said Tuesday the move was arrived at after numerous complaints from a section of parents that their children had been locked out during the previous allocation.
He said his dream was to see all needy students in the area get basic education, arguing that in the long run, the whole community would benefit.
"What our people don't know is that we receive massive applications but through our vetting committee, we try our best to ensure that the most needy students are funded. We don't give anybody an upper hand," he said.
In the academic year starting January 2016, Sh10.2 million has been injected into the programme, with each sub-location expected to get Sh300, 000.
Speaking in his constituency office, the Kuresoi MP was up beat of completing all projects he started saying his commitment was to make the lives of his constituents better through development.
Applicants should download forms from the website, fill them and present them to the nearest assistant chief's office before January 15.
