Lack of sufficient civic education is to blame for the current voter apathy in the ongoing registration exercise, a parliamentary aspirant has said.
Johnson Kinyanjui on Monday said that there is a need for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct a thorough civic education to enable the voters see the sense of registering and taking part in elections.
Kinyanjui further challenged the governent to allocate adequate funds to the commission to facilitate the exercise.
At the same time he called on Njoro residents to register as voters in order to vote out leaders who dont have their interests at heart. Kinyanjui has declared interest in the Njoro parliamentary seat.
