Traders at Laini Saba market, Kibera have now asked the market management to build up better stalls to boost their businesses in the market.
Speaking this afternoon at the market, the traders said they are soon going to stop paying daily and monthly revenues for using the stalls since the stalls are in horrible conditions.
"We are tired of operating in old stalls. Let the concerned authority construct new stalls for us," said Dorcas Nderitu, one of the traders.
“At times when it rains, our commodities are carried away by the water since some of the stalls are weak,” said Jennifer Kirui, another trader.
“Soon April rains will start, the market municipality should begin to construct well covered stalls for us to use as early as now,’’ said Rose Mutinda.
Nancy Omari said she sells githeri in the market and at times, she finds it hard when there is rain as her customers disappear with her money to seek for shelter and they never come back thus making her incur losses.
