There will be a new look added to the poshest estate in Kikuyu sub-county in the next few weeks.

Street names will be assigned to the different paths at the Kidfarmaco Estate, Kikuyu Ward MCA Binary Wainaina has said.

Wainaina said for easier accessibility of the estate by home owners and visitors, the names would not only be of aesthetic value but a needed necessity.

“We will name the streets in Kidfarmaco, Simba, Nyati and other names from the animal kingdom. It will be easier to give directions to and from the estate,” said Wainaina.

He was speaking to a gathering of residents at the estate.

The estate has modern stand-alone homes and rental flats are attractive to the eye and have high end finishing.

Wainaina also spoke of the improved security in the area following the installation of a light mast and lights.

The mast was erected at the St Mark’s ACK Kidfarmaco Church compound. It is over 30 metres high and floods the estate with light in the night.

Margaret Wahu, a resident in the estate, said the naming of the streets was a welcome idea.

Wahu added that the residents should be consulted on the choice of names.

“Kidfarmaco is our home, and our input is required in the choice of street names be they animals or otherwise,” said Wahu.
