Limuru Administration Police (AP) commander Michael Ndegwa has urged residents to share intelligence with the police saying the move will help fight criminal elements.

The AP commander said that members of the public must be willing to support the police in their work.

Mr Ndegwa said that the public has a big role to play on matters security adding that they should embrace the Nyumba Kumi security initiative.

“Security will be realised if members of the public work with the police on every aspect especially on intelligence sharing,” he said when he addressed journalists at Limuru Town Primary School on Wednesday.

The AP commander said police were keen to fight every criminal elements, adding that it is the responsibility of the locals to expose the criminals.

This comes after thugs broke into the Limuru Town Primary school accounts office and stole Sh450,000 and other valuables on Tuesday night.

The AP commander said that police had launched a manhunt for the suspects.

The Limuru Administration Police Commandant said that police have leads that will see the thugs arrested. He said that the thugs used crowbars, metal roads and hammers to break into the office.

“Detectives have launched a manhunt for the thugs who broke into the office and we will soon catch up with them,” he said.

The AP commander stated that that police are also looking for the watchman of the school who disappeared after the break in.

He added that they are investigating whether the robbery was an inside job saying that the truth will come out soon after the culprits who were involved are arrested.
