Uasin Gishu County Assembly leader of majority Josphat Lowoi has condemned the recent action by Meru governor Peter Munya of storming out of a funds drive presided by Deputy President William Ruto in Meru.
Jubilee affiliated politicians had asked the governor to support the newly formed Jubilee Party, infuriating him.
Speaking in his office Wednesday, Lowoi said the move by Munya was out of order and disrespectful to the DP.
"I condemn the move by governor Munya of walking out on Deputy President William Ruto because he doesn't support the Jubilee Party. It is out of order and I condemn it with the strongest terms possible," he said.
He said the Meru governor should publicly apologise to Ruto for his actions.
"If governor Munya is tired of being a Jubilee governor, he should resign and seek reelection with a party of his choice instead of disrespecting the DP," he said.
