Karuna Meibeki MCA Josphat Lowoi has cried foul over poor turn out in his ward in the on going mass voter registration exercise.
Speaking at the Uasin Gishu County Assembly on Thursday, Mr Lowoi said it's sad that despite advertisement of the exercise, there is very low turn out.
"In the on going voter registration, a total of eight voters are registered per day, which is very low compared to the required already thirty voters per day in every BVR kit," he said.
He urged those who have not registered as voters to turn up in large numbers since it will help them in electing leaders of their choice.
"We are always told youths are the leaders of tomorrow, how will we participate in choosing our leadership if we don't take identity cards and register as voters," he said.
He also urged the national government, through the registrar of persons, to devolve the process of giving national identification cards to ward levels for more Kenyans to get access to the cards.
