Kisii County deputy governor Joash Maangi has dismissed reports that he was suspended from ODM after leading a delegation of Gusii leaders to the home of Deputy President William Ruto.
After daring the leadership of the party that sponsored him during the 2013 general election to dismiss him, an ODM official suspended the county deputy leader.
Mr Maangi, who was recently heckled by youths in his village after the visit to Eldoret, claims the official who suspended him overstepped his mandate.
“To the best of my knowledge Eric Janganya is a youth league leader and doesn't have the capacity of suspending a vice chairman or the organising secretary,” Maangi said.
Dismissing the dismissal reports as ‘false and propagandist’, Maangi said the only recognized ODM leaders in the county were Governor James Ongwae (secretary) Senator Chris Obure (chairman), county speaker Kerosi Ondieki (vice chairman), Women rep Mary Otara (deputy secretary) and treasurer Nyakangi.
Maangi is ODM’s organising secretary in Kisii County.
