A 37-year-old man was arraigned in Kithimani courts on Tuesday in Matuu town for pretending to be a police officer.
The accused, Francis Muli, appeared before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe. Muli is facing a count charge of impersonation a case filed against him by the police. The magistrate read that the accused presented himself as a member of the Kenya police force which is not true hence it is termed a crime of fraud.
The defendant presented himself to Matuu Police Station on Saturday requesting for an abstract after he allegedly lost his work documents including sh2000. However, he pleaded not guilty to the charge when read to him.
Magistrate Shikwe granted him a bond in the sum of cash sh30,000. The case was adjourned and will be heard again on March 8, 2016.
