A 38-year old man has been rescued today March 1 trying to take his life in Mutituni area, Mumbuni location in the outskirts of Machakos town.
He was rescued by village headman by the name Makau Ngala who forwarded him to Mumbuni location chief Mathew Mulee.
Residents had already started punishing him through thorough beating but luckily the village headman rescued him on time.
"I got information that a certain man had tried to commit suicide in my village and took action to rescue him. Residents had already descended on him, as they say, it was not the first time he was trying to commit such crime. I rescued him and forwarded to chief Mulee who took him to Machakos police station," said Ngala.
The reasons for the man to try take his life several times has never been known which is suspected that he might be having mental problems.
He is being held at Machakos police station as police launch investigations into the matter.
